Anytime is the Right Time for Albarino the White Wine of Spain

(Samples provided by Gregory and Vine but opinions are my own.)

Albarino is a Spanish dry white wine for white wine lovers any time!

Although we typically like to categorize wines for different seasons, I believe in pairing this gorgeous white with all four seasons and just about any culinary creation I can create!

Where:

Wines from the region in Spain called Rías Baixas makes some of the world’s most elegant white wines. This region is a lush green corridor of northwest Spain on the cool Atlantic coast known as Galicia and this native grape varietal, Albariño, creates wines that are delicious and food-friendly.

Style:

The region has an Atlantic influence featuring mild overall temperatures and an abundance of precipitation. The poor, sandy soils that are ideal for cultivating the Albariño grape variety. A combination of bright fruit and natural acidity makes them a preferred white wine choice for wine professionals as well as novice and seasoned wine lovers.

Food friendly wine:

So many of my favorite foods pair with the clear golden yellow/green hue, crisp, bright fruit such as lemon and lime, hints of apple and stone fruit with a lively finish from  the natural acidity. Albarino always makes an appearance to pair with my cheese and charcuterie boards, just about any shrimp dish layered with herbs and lemon, all my salmon and chicken dishes and great big salads with lots of ingredients including fresh fruit, cheese, and tangy vinaigrettes.
