Looking for something fun and tasty to experience next weekend? Then FOLLOW ME to the 5th Annual Dripping with Taste Wine and Food Festival in Dripping Springs located at the picturesque location of the TEXAS OLIVE COMPANY on 2530 W.Fitzhugh Road in Dripping Springs.
If you love The Texas Hill Country, the music,wine and food as much as I do,then you have found your destination! I am not a Texan by birth but I feel like I am since living here for the first time 6 years ago. Although we moved away for awhile, my heart drew me back to this amazing part of Texas where I currently reside. And,next Saturday is a perfect example of why I love this area so much and decided to move back to Dripping Springs.
For the past 5 years,Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce showcases local chefs,wines,artisans and musicians with this yearly event. Foodies and those who are passionate about local events from all over Texas and other surrounding areas make there way here for a “taste” of Dripping Springs and its local flavor.
This event benefits The Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce and the new Visitors Bureau,who have been hard at work showcasing this awe-inspiring area of “The Gateway to The Texas Hill Country” and all the authentic local treasures it has to offer. Year after year,visitors from all over the country as well as Texans from other areas of the state make their way to the beautiful Hill Country-and some just might decide to call it home-LIKE ME!
The event this year will be held not too far from the center of town on the beautiful grounds of The Texas Hill Country Olive Company; the only certified organic olive oil in the state of Texas.
This locally handcrafted quality olive oil produced from the olive trees surrounding the tasting room is fresh and pure and rivals any imported olive oils I have tasted. And,you must be sure to sample the imported Balsamic Vinegars,too. You will not be able to resist leaving with several bottles of each!
Local artisan businesses will have samples wine,food and cooking demonstrations from 1p to 7p. Check the website for details.

Locals rave about The Dudley’s Wine Bar located in the heart of Dripping Springs. This family-owned wine bar offers a exceptional variety of wines ~local and global~in a relaxed atmosphere with comfortable and plush seating throughout the bar as well as exceptional outdoor seating.
Local Chef and owner of Rolling in Thyme and Dough,Fabienne Bollom with prepare one of her many special recipes. I know why her restaurant’s parking lot is packed full everyday! The food and ambience are amazing!
The day will be packed full of tasty samples from local wineries such as Grape Creek,food demonstrations from many other chefs including Chefs Tara Weaver and Katy Parker as well as the Cigar room and Argus Cidery. And ,of course, samples of artisan olives and balsamic vinegars!
The bold and fruity Terra Verde Estate Grown Olive Oil and complex flavor of the Fig Balsamic Vinegar were my favorite picks today.
