Señor Sotol Needs To Be In Your Summer Cocktail

Yes. It’s hell hot here in Texas already and we are all searching for that perfect cocktail that will bring that heat down a few degrees.

If you are a tequila drinker or mezcal drinker and haven’t ventured into other areas of the liquid gifts that Mexico has to offer, then it’s high time to discover and sip on sotol. No! It’s not tequila or mezcal but is a spirit distilled from the head of the Dasylirion plant ( family Asparagaceae family) and grows in the desert of northern Mexico and drink is produced in the states of Chihuahua, Durango and Coahuila.

Señor Sotol is an artesanal 100% Sotol which is an ensamble  DASYLIRION of Texano, Cedrosano, andWheeleri.

A ferris wheel of flavors hit the nose, palate and tongue. Earthy vegetal sweetness, smoke and funk-delightful funk- and goes down smoothly. And, boy! does it make a super cocktail!

Guess you can call it a Paloma hybrid. A splash of Mexican Grapefruit Soda, bubbly Topo Chico and a squeeze of fresh lime in a glass rimmed with spicy Tajine kinda made the perfect cocktail for sitting outside waiting for the sun to go down.
