Enjoying an evening cocktail on our cool new patio at our new home is how we are enjoying the hot summer evenings. Hanging out with friends on the patio or by the pool is a summertime ritual for many of us and sharing a well-crafted cool cocktail is great way to distract us from the sweltering heat of the day!

This is one of my new favorite cocktails and will become one of your summer cocktail favorites too! I must admit that I am a beginner mixologist. Except for the few gin and tonics, I haven’t been that adventurous UNTIL NOW! And I LOVE my newly developing skill!

This refreshing summertime cocktail Strawberry Batida has all of the flavors I like and is extremely easy to make.
Sweet and fragrant strawberries are muddled with fresh mint leaves, tart lime juice and well shaken with Alize’ Gold with just the right amount of passion fruit and the Brazilian Spirit Cachaca.

The Classic Brazilian tropical drink Batidas are alluring mixes of fresh fruit juice and cachaça which is the strong sugarcane liquor from Brazil made with the Brazilian distilled sugar cane. This recipe takes the batida to a whole new level of cocktail-goodness!

Cachaca is a distilled spirit produced in Brazil from fresh sugar cane juice and is often associated with rum and the popular cocktail, the Caipirinha. Agua Luca is the Brazilian Cane Rum that I used in this recipe and it too is so delicious!

It’s all about the quality of ingredients and the proper tools! I am in business now with my new Bullet Cocktail shaker, muddler and mini measure shot glass for consistency of every cocktail. In case you don’t know,muddling is a common bartender technique used to mash the ingredients of the cocktail to infuse the flavors throughout before straining.
