Man! Skiing makes me hungry and thirsty!
After a couple of skiing vacations, I decided that the best part was apres ski! Although there’s nothing like dragging around a pair of skis while trying to walk in those boots, (you know the one’s) while trying to navigate with thick coat and pants that I couldn’t wait to peel off, I think hitting the trail to the ski lodge for cocktails and food is what I looked forward to most!
Get in that “after the ski” attitude and find a seat at the bar or table and savor the ambiance, hand-crafted signature cocktails and the gastro-pub menu selections that will hit the spot from a hard day of skiing, exercising or uhhh, just a long day at work.
Embers Ski Lodge’s architecture has a rustic woodsy elegance and at touch of whimsical that will remind you of cross-country skiing in the winter, hiking in warmer weather and then meeting up with friends for cocktails, beer or bite.
Chef Brett Corrieri (the Kitchen Guru) and owners Lars Kopperud and Mike Dolan(not pictured), the owners of Mafiaoza’s, wanted to bring the “feel and ambiance” of the Pacific Northwest to Nashville; a neighborhood establishment for camaraderie and cocktails in the quickly growing and hip 12th South Restaurant District. Let Gary Hayward shake up a special hand-crafted cocktail for you! Gary is the Creative Director of Ember’s and Brand Ambassador for Bombay/ Sapphire/ Bacardi and will be shaking it up for you!
Everyone was enjoying the pre-opening night with hand-crafted cocktails such as bourbon and cherry wood smoked Stars and Stripes, the refreshing watermelon and rum Ajax, named after the lift of Aspen Mountain and many, more to choose from the menu. Some of my menu favorites (and I haven’t gotten through the whole menu yet): Seared Tuna Salad with Sherry Vinaigrette and a rockn’ Teriyaki Aioli Dip, the luscious Foie Gras Toasted Pound Cake with Strawberry Jam, Roasted Strawberries with a Jalapeño Tare Sauce (WHOA!), Smokey Tomato Soup with a Bacon,Bourbon Cheddar Crouton and the Daily Spa Side which was the Broadbent’s Bacon Wrapped Asparagus! I hear the Full Pound Handcut Belgian Fries and Burger will rock your world!
And….Valet parking 7 days a week, starting at 5pm!
