This week is Negroni Cocktail Week!
Time to celebrate this classic cocktail (that has a cult following) with a not so classic but equally as satisfying and refreshing as the original.
Mix it up with a Mezcal Negroni! That’s right! Instead of the gin base add our favorite mezcal! There are many expressions of mezcal and here is one of my new favorites!
Read my review Aldez Artesanal Mezcal Ensamble Will Make You a Mezcal Lover on my website and see what all the buzz is about!
Everyone should be drinking Negronis throughout the year, not just during Negroni Week. See why!
You can’t go wrong with a Negroni anyway. It’s so easy to make this Italian aperitif which can be stirred up in a few short minutes; the ingredients are so simple you can always have them on hand! Just be sure to keep some fresh or dehydrated oranges or limes for garnish! And, I always have large square ice cubes in my freezer ready to go.
Traditionally, a Negroni is equal parts Campari -the delightfully bitter, sweet, herbal Italian Liqueur, Sweet Vermouth and your favorite Gin. I have discovered that tequila and mezcal can be substituted for the gin and create an equally amazing cocktail. Each one of these ingredients has so many layers of flavors on their own that when you mix them in a cocktail, you’ll have one of the most refreshing and satisfying cocktails around!

ALWAYS make your cocktails with quality ingredients! Make sure you can drink each spirit by itself because mixing something you don’t like won’t make it taste any better. Use your favorites!
There’s only one Campari which is the base of the Negroni and it’s amazing. I love to just drink it with sparking mineral water.
Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth is a superior vermouth layered with all kinds of flavors. I promise it will elevate your cocktails to a new level of deliciousness.
The recipe for a Negroni is simple:
