Aldez Artesanal Mezcal Ensamble Will Make You a Mezcal Lover

  • by

Aldez Mezcal Ensamble is a blend of three agaves Espadin (Agave Agustafolia), Jabali (Agave Convallis) and Tobala (Agave Potatorum.) This mezcal blend is from Oaxaca and 100% agave. Because it’s un-aged (Joven) it has a pure expression on the nose and palate of a clean, crisp, pleasant sweetness from cooked agaves and the slightest amount of smokiness and a hit of pepper with a long finish which defines a mezcal that I adore.

Manuel and Jen Aczualdez, founders of Drink Good Spirits and Aldez Tequila, were so enamored with agave-based spirits and the long and rich history of mezcal dating back 3,000 years ago to the Aztecs, they decided give us a collection of mezcals that are approachable to your palate as well as honor mezcal history, and production.

There is a mystique surrounding mezcal, its history of the land where it comes from and a blend of agaves that will please your palate. Manuel and Jen have continued that magic with this ensamble.

Aldez Mezcal Ensamble is sustainably produced from the small village of San Juan del Rio in Oaxaca, Mexico.

Age: It is unaged (Joven) and clear

Nose and Palate: The hearts of the agave plants ( piñas) are cooked in pits in the ground which imparts a smokey aroma and flavor. Aldez Mezcal Ensamble is not overly smokey therefore you can detect the pure flavors of cooked agave’s delicate sweetness, peppery earthiness on the palate and enjoy the myriad of all flavors on the long finish.

Aldez Mezcal Ensamble is well balanced and enjoyed as a sipper or mixed into a cocktail creating a high end cocktail with lots of delightful flavors.
