Austin Food + Wine Festival 2023 November 4th and 5th and I Can’t Wait !

ABOUT THE TICKETS

This year’s Austin Food + Wine Festival 2023 is finally getting near! We can’t wait! Tickets have almost sold out but I do know there are a few more left, just in case you forgot to get your tickets. I can see by the lineup of talent and new events they have in the works, it’s gonna be a stellar weekend and I don’t want to miss a thing! This year, instead of Rock Your Taco, the inaugural MADE IN TEXAS event Saturday evening will pay homage to all things Texas, foodie-style! Think tailgate, lone star dine-around, and Texas favorites hot off the grill at Auditorium Shores.

The line up for the Chef Demos, Fire Pit and Made in Texas is a local star-studded display of our most talented chefs sharing their culinary gifts to festival goers. November will surely usher in much needed cooler weather for strolling around, sipping on cocktails or your favorite wines and endless bites of your favorite foods!

My Most Favorite Things from the 2022 Austin Food + Wine Festival

Here are some of our most fabulous experiences we had last year at the 2022 festival. AND, we had many! By no means is this all but I had to pick out the photos that were my absolute favorites! There is so much to do, taste, see, and experience over three days (which includes the Saturday evening event) that I couldn’t post it all.

All I can say is that I am up for the task again this year and November can’t get here fast enough!

Last year, we had so much fun tasting wine and cocktails, noshing on the incredible spread of bites throughout the 2 day festival and the Live Fire Event by local chefs and their popular restaurants and hanging out with celebrity chefs competing in the Rock Your Taco Event. Celebrity Mezcal creators Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston were on hand to introduce their tasty collaboration, Dos Hombres!

Wines By Joe of Oregon wine country invited me to a media event to taste their wines at one of my favorite hat stores in Austin! Maufrais never disappoints and we all have our favorite hats.

We made a family affair of wine drinking and hat wearing at the tasting event!

Discover Puerto Rico was front and center the whole weekend beginning with a media dinner featuring the best of the best culinary gems and rums. What an event!

Puerto Rican Rum cocktails are the best! See how gorgeous they are? They tasted even better!

Don Q Rums from Puerto Rico! We enjoyed seminars and tastings with this rum!

One of the highlights of the event were celebrities Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston appearing at the festival to talk about and taste with us Dos Hombres Mezcal.

Local celebrity chef and owner of Kemuri Tatsu-ya and the whole Tatsu-ya empire participated at the Rock Your Taco Event and I believe they won!

Local Texas and Celebrity Chef Tiffany Derry whipped up a Crispy Pork taco with Duck Fat and Collards.

Celebrity Chef Brooke Williamson from various shows on Food Network and who is also is an accomplished restauranteur was creating a stellar line up of her fabulous tacos.

These tacos rocked!

You never know what you’ll see cooking over live fire at the two day event! This is a spectacular event where all day long you can taste the food and talk to the chef that create them.

There’s always a paella simmering over an open fire at the Fire Pits!

Local Texas Chef and paella caterer James T Canter of Guerrilla Gourmet. His catering partner and chef friend Jess Castellon collaborated on several paellas and the best part, we got to taste them all! How about all the quail roasting over the live fire soon to be in the paella! James now lives in South Korea and although I follow him on Facebook we all miss him!

Chef Jess Castellon

If you follow the smoke and fire you’ll likely experience a feast cooked over live fire by talented chefs. Who knew you could roast a cabbage over fire. It was amazing! See the KUDU grill? Immediately after the event I bought one and now have my new upgraded KUDU III! I love it!

KUDU GRILLS

There’s nothing better than fresh roasted fish over live fire.
