Visit Wedding Oak Winery for Two Surprising and Innovative Wines with Hops

Thanks to WOW, Seth Urabanek and Big Thirst Marketing, samples were enjoyed to create this post!

If you are looking for something a little non-traditional this summer, then a visit to Wedding Oak Winery should be on the list!

What a delicious and refreshing surprise!

A union of Marsanne wine and the best of beer’s flavors and aromas created two unique wines just perfect for summertime and wine & food pairings.

Wedding Oak’s winemaker Seth Urbanek has introduced two hopped wines for you to oooooh and ahhhh over.

Seth is a gifted winemaker that already creates 100% Texas wines that express their sense of place. When he had the opportunity to fuse the very essences of the most popular beverages he just knew he was on to something.

Seth takes winemaking very seriously.

Marsanne, a blending grape from the Rhone Valley (France) rich with concentrated flavors and spices – grows and drinks well in Texas. It is a refreshing wine on it’s own is made more refreshing with the integration of dry-hopping with carefully selected hops from their partnership with Beerburg Brewing.

The Texas-grown, full-bodied Marsanne was just begging for another component in flavor and aroma. The already beautiful lees-stirred Marsanne wine with its’ round mouthfeel was made even better with the enhanced yet subtle flavors of hops. One batch of  Marsanne was dry-hopped with Ahtanum hops and the other with Simcoe. Each imparted slightly different notes on the palate and nose of an already round, creamy ? Texas Hill Country wine.

Hoppily Ever After: Marsanne with Ahtanum hops:

Think grapefruit, candied ginger, daffodils, stone fruit, fresh green pea, lemongrass and citrus. Pair this wine with Seth’s suggestion of Blue Crab with butter and parsley or a creamy brie.

Hoppily Ever After: Marsanne with Simcoe hops:

This is a IPA beer and wine lovers dream! Hints of lemongrass, pine, and citrus hit your nose and palate with the already bold flavors of Marsanne for a seriously awesome wine just made for wine and food pairings. Seth loves this with a juicy burger slathered with goat cheese.
